(8 items)The Tides joined the Copa de la Diversion program in 2019. From 2019 to 2024, as the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, the Tides played Copa de la Diversion games as the Pajaritos - Spanish for "Baby Birds." In December of 2015, the Tides altered the team logo set to incorporate a family of nautical logos. The primary logo features the seahorse, which can be found in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay surrounding the cities of Hampton Roads. Starting in 2025, the team will play Copa de la Diversion games as the Caballitos del Mar. - Spanish for “Seahorse,” creating a natural fit with team primary logo. Caballitos del Mar de Norfolk was developed locally in partnership with the Chamber for Hispanic Progress and features a seahorse depicted in the highly respected sugar skull design, with vibrant colors. In addition to being native to Hampton Roads, the seahorse is also important to Hispanic culture both environmentally and economically.
